Earlier this month, I posted my Turbulence Training review and how I am following the program. Right now, I am still in the first four weeks of it and I’m enjoying it very much. The workouts are short, intense, and don’t take up a lot of time during the week. However, I also borrowed my dad’s copy of Insanity. If you’re not familiar with it, it is a fitness program put out by Beachbody®, the company that also produces P90X.

Who says fitness equipment has to be expensive? Well, if you’re looking to add some challenge to your workouts, you may be interested in creating your own slosh pipe. Slosh pipe training is new to me and I learned about it after flipping through a fitness magazine. It is simply a piece of PVC pipe (6 to 10 feet long, 3 to 4 inches in diameter) and two end caps.

Craig Ballantyne, creator of Turbulence Training

Just yesterday I began my first four weeks of the Turbulence Training workout. You may not be familiar with the program. It was created by Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS, a strength and conditioning coach in Toronto. He is also a regular contributor to Men’s Health magazine and a graduate of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada with a Master’s of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology.

Turbulence Training evolved from Craig’s years in university.

Although Ive belonged to a variety of gyms, I tend to rely on home workouts as a way to save time and money. I love the benefits:
- I dont have to worry about the extra money needed to join a gym.
- I save time and gasoline money by not having to drive anywhere (and with gas prices these days, that counts for a lot!).
- I can exercise anytime thats convenient for me, regardless of the weather or the gyms hours.

The challenge: that need for variety. Its not just boredom: studies show that exercise variety will help you improve and get you in tip-top condition.
